Nala’s design and build services play a key role in our ability to provide the best quality of work throughout all projects. A projects success also depends on taking into consideration at the outset the specific operational and maintenance issues the facility will face throughout its working life.
As well as conventional design skills our input to the process incorporates insights gained from our extensive experience of delivering a wide range of projects over many years.
We can also work together with our clients to achieve cost savings and make efficiency gains where possible and enhance our clients’ ability to operate and maintain assets effectively.

WICKES
Nala has had the pleasure of working with Wickes for several years, carrying out a major re-fit programme on many of their stores.
Within the refit there was a new till layout including power and data, a complete new kitchen and bathroom showroom and design centre requiring new power and data for the PC’s and a new telephone system. The lighting was re-designed to the latest LED specification, including the high level sales area and the admin areas. The installation of the new LED lights and removal of the old T8 fluorescent fittings as well a work on the new tills was all carried out during nightshift with no disruption to store trading during the day.
We have also worked on a number of New Build Wickes stores involving the design and installation of power, lighting and fire alarms systems to their new build stores throughout the UK.
MATALAN
Nala was successful in winning the contract for the electrical design and build project at Matalan Sunderland. This was a downsize of the existing store including a full strip out.
Working to the main contractor, Vale UK Ltd, Nala Engineers Ltd installed the containment around the perimeter and admin areas, new recessed LED modules along with suspending lighting track and spot lights to cover all displays. New data and fire alarm installations were also undertaken as part of the project. There were a number of challenges but the job was successfully completed on time and within budget.
For nearly 20 years we have been one of Matalan’s preferred suppliers for their electrical works, working on new stores, refurbishments and downsizes throughout this period.
